I LOVE BEING HATED!
“I love being hated and envied because no one envies the ugly…and nobody hates the weak”
I searched and tried to find an English term for this but there seems to be none to the best of my knowledge.I have a willingness to be disliked and this has helped me in so many ways. Before we go into it deeply,I’ll like to point out that everybody has been hated at one point or another in their lifetime..some people more than the others. And if you think this is wrong but you are clearly just oblivious. In reality, people can hate you for no reason,it could be because of what they heard about you, what was said,it could stem from nothing even..so you see,you could be the best possible version of yourself and still get hated. Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way,I’ll proceed by highlighting how being hated has helped me greatly.
Freedom from Control: The fear of being disliked/hated can control your actions and decisions.Generally, there are certain decisions that I have to make but if I stay worrying about how other people feel about me,it’s either I make a decision based of the influence of people or I make a decision that lacks fulfillment. And in reality,we shouldn’t be making decisions based off people’s feelings about you,you should make your own decisions based on your own personal beliefs and it might be wrong but at the end of the day,it was your decision and you can gladly face the consequences.Because if you make decisions based off others, when it goes South, you’ll be at the receiving end alone still.
Personal Growth and Resilience: Standing firm in my decisions and perspectives have helped me grow a spine by developing a mind of my own. This has helped greatly in building character and confidence,it also teaches independence.
Authenticity,Purpose and Direction: Accepting that not everyone will like me allows me to focus on what makes me happy. This is important to me because I’m not conforming to the views of others.Being willing to be disliked means that I am living according to my own values, rather than adapting to the expectations of others.
Being okay with being hated is your cure to anxiety.I have seen so many “nice people” get manipulated for having a big heart because they simply cannot say “NO” when needed all for the reason of not wanting to be hated. At the end of the day, this leads to PEOPLE PLEASING! And you should know that the moment you begin pleasing people, there’s no end to it.Different people have different needs, different opinions and you’ll evenly get worn out because you can’t satisfy them all.
When you can’t say no to the things that don’t align with your values and beliefs, you are actually robbing yourself of your own happiness and potential. And in return, robbing the world of what you can actually give it because now,you lack the authenticity and yes,no matter what you believe in,there is someone out there who believes the same.
“If your number one goal is to make sure that everyone likes you, then you risk sacrificing your uniqueness” The funny thing about being disliked is that the people disliking you most likely don’t know the real you. Since very few people know me,the real me,which is a prerequisite to liking me,I’m very comfortable with them not liking the different versions of me they have in their heads.I do not want to be liked if anything,I HAVE MADE THEIR HATRED MY FUEL! The thing is,not everyone is going to like you and you can’t control that, you can as well enjoy the hate they give you. I for one,I like being talked about,it inflates my ego so,it’s a win-win for me.
People’s judgement and dislike is mostly as a result of the projection of their own insecurities. You won’t be criticized by someone who is doing better than you. I’m not suggesting that you become rude, disrespectful or inconsiderate but that you stay true to yourself, live your life unapologetically, use dislike as a fuel for motivation, live without seeking external validation, release the stress about other people’s opinions and that way,you live your life to the fullest.

I still need to liberate myself from the fear of being disliked
In short I am a people pleaser
